Hugo Boss not too long ago launched a brand new line of vegan sneakers made with pineapple-based leather-based. The limited-edition sneakers are a part of the BOSS Menswear assortment and can be found in 4 colours: blue, black, brown, and yellow. The sneakers are made with Piñatex—a vegan different to leather-based made with the fruit’s leaf fibers, a waste byproduct of the pineapple business, developed by Spanish designer Carmen Hijosa. The biodegradable materials sells for between $5 to $15 per sq. meter—making it extra inexpensive than animal leather-based. “The pineapple leaves used to create this distinctive textile require no additional assets to develop and supply farming communities with an extra earnings,” Hugo Boss defined in an announcement. The firm described the shoe line as “footwear that makes a minimal imprint on the planet and gives a modern BOSS look.” Piñatex is amongst a rising variety of alternate options not too long ago developed to interchange animal leather-based, together with nat-2’s fungi leather, VEERAH’s apple peel-based leather, and Modern Meadow’s collagen-based leather.
