  1. I would squeeze out the water using a cookie sheet and with weights of water jugs.. an take about an hour. Then place in the freezer. Remove, unthaw and continue with the recipe. It will absorb like a sponge with a “chicken” meat like texture. Sooooooooo good

  2. Brussel sprouts are my favorite vegetable! I'm going to cook ALL this today EXCEPT use the broccoli rabe that HAS to be cooked today…I was looking at it starting to wilt and trying to put together a meal in my head(that I was in the mood for: it matters). Lo and behold! Here you girls are to inspire me! Woohoo, I have everything on hand!! Bonus.

I usually host a vegan Holiday meal (or two) and have found my "something new" for this year…I love the tofu glaze (have done a Honey Mustard, before…but this year I'm going Maple syrup!)…I am a brussels sprouts fan, too….If I want to tempt "sprout haters" i serve them roasted sprouts (with crispy edges)…seasoned simply. Works every time.

  4. I LOVE Brussels sprouts! I like them just steamed. I don't know how to convince others to like them other than to pick fresh ones (as in not old) so they're not too bitter. And you could do a balsamic vinegar on them, serve with mushrooms and onions, or just use your recipe! I'm going to try it!

  5. There have been several vegetables that my husband told me he didn't like, brussels sprouts being one of them. I'm pretty sure his mom just boiled all vegetables. I baked them until crispy to prove that they don't taste horrible. I think preparation is key for any vegetables. Brussels sprouts are delicious!! I didn't convince my husband that they are delicious, but he said that they were ok.

  7. This looks so delicious! I kind of want to make it for supper tonight as a trial run for holiday meal-making! haha I love roasted brussels sprouts! Not mushrooms so much (I know… I'm sorry), but I would just increase the amount of sprouts and go from there.

  8. This tofu looks so good!!! Dude I'm all about that maple syrup and mustard combo! Last night, I roasted some B sprouts with maple syrup, soy sauce, mustard, liquid smoke, and smoked paprika. There's totally a conspiracy against B sprouts – I thought they were supposed to be disgusting and then ate some roasted ones at Thanksgiving on year and they blew me away!
